Contact lenses affect the shape of your cornea. Because a LASIK surgery’s success depends upon the accuracy of the measurements of the cornea, wearing contacts may negatively affect your surgery.

Refrain from wearing gas-permeable contact lenses. Use soft contacts instead.

Weeks Before Surgery
As the day of your surgery draws near, refrain from using even soft contacts.

1 Day Before Surgery
Avoid putting on any form of make-up, perfume or creams on your face. These might cause irritants to enter your eyes, resulting in complications.

The Day Itself
Like the day before, avoid creams, perfumes and make-up. Also, pull your hair back in a neat ponytail to keep the strands from falling into your eyes.

With these tips, you’ll be ready for your LASIK eye surgery. Good luck!
